Our ballet adaptation of ACT II of the Nutcracker: Land of the Sweets.

Audition Times for Saturday, August 16:

Ages 4-6: 10:30am-11:15am

Ages 7-9: 11:30am-12:15pm

Ages 10-12: 12:30pm-1:30pm

Ages 13 and up: 1:45pm-2:45pm

*Anyone who has completed at least one year of pointe will be asked to stay from 2:45-3:15pm*

Pointe audition- 2:45-3:15pm

Dancers must register for ballet classes at Artistic Edge Dance Center to perform in the Nutcracker

Rehearsals will be on Saturdays from August 23 - November 15

Performance and Dress Rehearsal are on Sunday, November 16 and a school performance during the day on Monday, November 17

Mandatory in studio run through on Saturday, November 8.

ACT II: The Land of Sweets

Clara travels to the beautiful Land of Sweets, ruled by the Sugar Plum Fairy. In honor of the young heroine, a celebration of sweets from around the world is produced: chocolate from Spain, coffee from Arabia, tea from China, and candy canes from Russia all dance for her amusement; Danish shepherdesses perform on their flutes; Mother Ginger has her children, the Polichinelles (or Bon Bons); a string of beautiful flowers perform a waltz. To conclude the night, the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Clara perform a dance.

A final waltz is performed by all the sweets, after which the Sugar Plum Fairy ushers Clara down from her throne to awaken from her dream.
