Our ballet adaptation of ACT II of the Nutcracker: Land of the Sweets.

Audition Times for Saturday, August 15:

Age 3-5, 10:10:45am

Age 6-9, 11-11:45am

Age 10-13, 12-12:45pm

Age 14& Up, 1-2:30 (If already on pointe, please bring pointe shoes in)

Dancers must register for ballet classes at Artistic Edge Dance Center to perform in the Nutcracker

Choreography Sessions and Rehearsals will be on Saturdays from August 22 - November 14. Choreography Times may differ from Rehearsal Times.

Performance and Dress Rehearsal are on Sunday, November 15 and a school performance during the day on Monday, November 16

Mandatory in studio run through on Saturday, November 8.

ACT II: The Land of Sweets

Clara travels to the beautiful Land of Sweets, ruled by the Sugar Plum Fairy. In honor of the young heroine, a celebration of sweets from around the world is produced: chocolate from Spain, coffee from Arabia, tea from China, and candy canes from Russia all dance for her amusement; Danish shepherdesses perform on their flutes; Mother Ginger has her children, the Polichinelles (or Bon Bons); a string of beautiful flowers perform a waltz. To conclude the night, the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Clara perform a dance.

A final waltz is performed by all the sweets, after which the Sugar Plum Fairy ushers Clara down from her throne to awaken from her dream.
